Mobile GPS Tracking Service

May 15th, 2008 by Valery

Here is a new article in our series that might be useful when using GPSed service.

On this occasion we will talk about Track Popup Menu. This menu appears if you click the track line precisely on the map.

Using this menu you can process almost any operation with this track. For example, you can change the track color, rename the track, send a link to this track via email, export the track to KML format to view it in Google Earth and so on. More than that, the same menu is available from any page on the site, which shows a track, for instance as shown here: “Going home - Rally Finnskog”.

Note: Ability to change a track (for example, rename it) is possible only if you are the author of the track.

By the way, GPSed service works better with the Mozilla Firefox browser v2.x. Other browsers also apply, still we advise you to use Firefox. The current version of Mozilla Firefox can be downloaded for free from here:

One more useful functionality, in our opinion, is Zoom Track, which centers the selected track the way to see the whole of it on the map. This functionality can be accessed by different ways, for instance, by clicking a small icon after the track name in the “Opened Tracks” list or by selecting the “Zoom Track” item in the track popup menu, or by just clicking the track name on the detailed page view of the selected track.

We hope this information will be useful for GPSed.com users and will allow experiencing all the benefits of our service.
