Mobile GPS Tracking Service

We are happy to inform that a new version of GPSed for Blackberry appeared.

We are convinced you’ll find several bug fixes useful. The work with memory card have been improved: the track list is now easier loading from the memory card; converting of the track in GPX format have been improved.

In the previous versions in was impossible to start a track until your device does not catch satellites. Now it is also fixed.
Please download installation of GPSed mobile application for BlackBerry v. 1.01.

We also would like to announce a new version of GPSed mobile application for J2ME phones.

Now you will not face any difficulties with a detection of internal GPS. Duration incongruity on client and server when recording several tracks in succession was fixed.

Please download installation of GPSed mobile application for J2ME phones v. 3.2.

iPhone  version is expected soon!

We are happy to inform you about our plans. Now we are working on GPSed Mobile Application for iPhone.  If you are interested please check our news carefully!

We hope you’ll benefit with the new updates of our products! As usual we are waiting for your comments and suggestions impatiently!

Any hope for an integration with FireEagle?

Hey!

I have a BlackBerry 8310 and I read that the memory card problem had some fixes but it doesn’t seem to be fixed for me. Whenever I have firewall enabled (I need this enabled so other programs will not prompt me for local access), the “Save on: SDCard” always gives me a..

‘The application gpsedbb has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy’

Followed by..

‘Please, check your SDCard settings’ (I get this when I try to make new tracks after I enter the name and description too)

Everything for the application including gpsed_connector is set to allow and I am not on BES or BIS (I actually have no internet on the phone).

I have v4.5OS with 2GB MicroSD Kingston memory card.

Could you please describe in details what kind of integration with FireEagle you expect?

Please check your permits acces to the memory card.
If nothing happens, turn off firewall.

robert Says:

Valery, I was thinking of something pretty simple, like your mobile gpsed app updating fireeagle with the position. I like using gpsed app for the tracks, but I also like having other apps access to my location info via fireeagle, which is currently difficult to do (have to switch apps).

Thanks for your feedback! I think your idea sounds interesting and we consider adding such feature to our TODO list

Hi!
I use GPSed with my Blackberry 8800 and it’s great!
I use it most times for sport.

Actually there is one feature i miss. It would be great if a track pauses automatically if I don’t move anymore.
Everytime i make a break, I have to stop the track by myself.

Thanks for your idea! We are planning to realize it in future.

I used GPSed v.0.999 (beta), v.1.0 and v.1.01 to record, on my Blackberry 8800 my full trip in Turkey.
I took tracks on 22days, 12 hours per day and the software works quite well.
I just had problems uploading some of the files made with the Beta version and here the Shape Sevices support was superb: they gave a big help repairing my broken files…
… thanks Valery!

I just installed GPSed v. 1.01 into my bb 8110 with internal gps device. It worked just once caching 8 satellites while i was at the window of my office and everything was fine, it just lost satellites when i walked into the office again, as must be. I started the program again while walking in the street to track my way back home and since then it’s not working anymore, it’s looking for satellites all the time “GPS connecting”. I turned off the internal gps device and restarted the application, and it stand by searching for a gps, than i restarted the gps and again it’s still waiting for satellites, so i guess the software and gps device are communicating right. I removed gpsed and installed it again but it’s still in “GPS connecting” status. Any solutions??

Thanks for you report!

Please try to do the following:
- set all permissions in Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications to allow
- go outdoors and wait few minutes (5-10 minutes) while GPS fix satellites
- you can also try to use “Reset GPS” function from main menu of GPSed application

ok it’s working right now, i hope it will be ok from now on, thank you very much!!
