Mobile GPS Tracking Service

August 1st, 2008 by alex

One year ago I could hardly imagine I will be posting news on this project literally every day. Thanks to our team, now it’s real :)

Well, today we introduce one more update of our mobile application. This time it’s a new client for Java phones, also known as GPSed for J2ME/MIDP. New version is tagged 3.0 beta. As previous major version was 2, you can imagine there’s some sweet stuff in this update. Here’s the list of most important of them:

  • Completely new user interface. Now includes a compass, track preview and big vivid trip computer display
  • Sharing your tracks to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Blogger
  • Support of internal GPS in the following phones: Nokia 6650, 6220, 3155i, 6155i, 6165, 6255; Sony Ericsson W760, W760i, C905
  • You can now pick contacts from address book for sharing your position over SMS

And of course lots of bugfixes. Here you can see some pictures of the new user interface.

Hi everyone!

We’ve just released version 3.1. The update is not a major one, so we decided not to make a separate post about it. Changes are:

1. Added explicit option for method of GPS usage: via Location API or Direct. In previous versions it was always “Location API” and it caused problems for some phones with broken Location API firmware, like Nokia E61. If you were unable to connect to GPS with previous versions, we’d highly recommend to try 3.1.

2. “Upload rate” option is back in Settings. It means now you switch from LIVE track to manual upload, and vice-versa.

3. Some bugfixes, mainly in User Interface.
