OK, I bought the Pro version. I was happy with the old program and really want to see the bugs worked out in the new version.
I also have the sometimes disappearing track list. But the main problem I am having is tracking stopping after 24% of the track according to my upload while the screen shows the whole distance. I have emailed a couple of flawed tracks, Any help?
All of my tracks are broken and I can keep sending more if that helps. I use the program to track my runs so I have 2-3 tracks a week.
Thanks

I agree w/ bmwkayakhiker that it is sometimes very confusing. I too have done tracks where if i go to "pages" and "details", i can see the track i've created along with the track details. There is a track name, says its on SD Card, etc., but if i go to "list", there is nothing there and there is nothing in the menu to get the track there (only New Track or Continue). Very confusing.

If i'm doing something wrong, or there is a solution please advise.

Ken,

We'll check the elevation problem, could be a bug.

Track corruption / incomplete uploading: could you please send us your track file from BlackBerry? We'll analyze it and will try to understand why it is broken. It's the first report on broken files with the last versions.

Thanks!

The old version worked great for me. Now the 1.2 version is not working. The screen correctly displays the info for my complete track but when I upload the track to GPSed website only about the first 25% of the track is transferred. And when I try to convert to GPX, the resulting file is corrupt. What is happening?
Blackberry 8330

Also, a bug shared by the old version and the current one. My elevation displays as -3700 feet above sea level (or rather below sea level) and when I hike up the numbers get smaller as if I really did live at the bottom of the sea. In reality I live at 3700 feet above sea level...
No, I have not bought the Pro version. I suspect it shares the same bugs...

Latest version 1.2 for Blackberry - when converting native logged file into GPX format on the phone the time is offset by 12 hours (backwards) in GPX new file.

Is this a bug or am I missing something? My phone is set to the correct time BTW, something confirmed in the gpsed log.

Tracking with GPSed for Blackberry is sometimes confusing. A manual is needed. For example, it is unclear how it works if you stop a track, then continue the same track, and what happens if network coverage is lost in the meanwhile. Later, I can sometimes see the track on the BB and sometimes the track list is empty.

It is also unclear what is supposed to happen if you have an active track going, lose coverage (like if you go indoors), and come back out into coverage. It appears that tracking resumes sometimes and sometimes does not but that automatic uploading stops.

These are just two examples of my own confusion where a detailed manual describing how the system is supposed to work would be helpful.

Roger »

1. To upload track files from your BlackBerry to PC you can use Desktop Manager. You can find .gpsed files on a memory card or in the memory of the mobile handheld.

2. Just open your favorite web browser on your PC, open GPSed Upload page and select track files you want to upload to GPSed server.

3. I believe that the most modern GPS-services support GPX file format. So you can export your tracks to GPX format and use with other GPS system.

4. You should upload your track to GPSed server in order to view waypoints. Just open track's page and "waypoint" icon will appear right on the track.

I have just (yesterday) purchased the Pro ver for Balckberry; tried it out on a short trail today. Very nice, easy to use. BUT - I am in Malawi - there is no network support for Blackberry in this country, and worked locally.
Four questions:-
1. Uploding the track to a PC - how?
2. Submitting from the PC - how?
3. Is this track in a format I can use in Tracks4Africa?
4. I have created Waypoints .. how do I view them?
