Mobile GPS Tracking Service

We’re happy to announce a long-awaited new release of GPSed for Windows Mobile. Application has become much more stable and user-friendly. Besides important bugfixes, this update includes a bunch of new features. Most of all we like the new feature of sharing your tracks with friends on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Blogger. When you start a new track, it only takes one touch of a button to post it to major social networks so your friends will follow you. You can as well share your existing tracks.

New WindowsMobile client features

With the new version you can create track waypoints with text description, and register new GPSed accounts right on your PocketPC or Smartphone. We thought it would be nice for you to know about the following improvements and bugfixes:

  • Application memory usage has been significantly decreased. Moreover, tracking for a long time does not consume much memory anymore.
  • GPS support is improved
  • Completely reworked user interface for uploading tracks to GPSed.com and social networks
  • Fixed problems with weird track “jumps” across oceans and continents
  • VGA screens are now properly supported
  • Ability to select COM0 port as source of GPS data
  • and many usability improvements

We highly recommend you to download the latest version of GPSed for Windows Mobile. Your feedback is appreciated!

Thanks for your feedback. I think this is a great idea.
We will investigate a possibility to implement such feature.

Great improvements! I knew I was doing the right thing when I started using GPSed :)

Will you be making a app for the new iPhone 3G?

Thanks for your kind feedback.
Yes, we are planning to develop GPSed for iPhone 3G, I hope it will be available in a few months.

Great app. Didnt use any previous versions than the latest but found this on MoDaCo and loaded it right away. Was a WinMo user that switched to iPhone and recently switched back. Think there will be alot more like me…so please keep up the development!

Features I’d like to see:
1) The ability to simply post a single current location instead of a whole track.
2) The ability to publish that location or track in a badge (facebook, myspace, generic blog)
2a) If tracking a path, show the most current uploaded point
2b) If posting a single GPS location…just show that point.
3) The ability to email a link with your current location that the end-user could click on and see your position on a google map or GPSed map.
4) The ability to see location or track on a WM phone. launching WindowsLiveSearch or GoogleMaps?

That’s all I have!
Thanks for the program.

I have a problem all of a sudden. Worked for me earlier today. Now it won’t take my GPSed credentials on my phone. I log in fine with them online…but on my phone it says they are incorrect.

Tried re-typing them in the settings screen…but when I go to upload a track, it says they are wrong and asks me again. I try to enter there….still wrong.

I am sure I am typing them correctly as I still tested them online…where they work.
