Mobile GPS Tracking Service

October 22nd, 2009 by odonata

It’s not a secret that the track becomes more exciting with picturesque photos geotagged and places of interest marked as a waypoints. The descriptions of geotagged photos used to be edit just directly in Picasa or FlickR photo albums before. The same with waypoint descriptions which were edited just when the waypoints are created. When the track is completed, a process of changing photos and waypoints descriptions was very complicated.

But now you can absolutely forget about that. You can edit photo and waypoint descriptions easily now directly at your track’s page. Also, you can delete any waypoint if necessary. To change photo or waypoint description you have to sign in your GPSed account first.

Put your mouse over the uploaded picture or waypoint on the track page and find “Edit” button next to it.

Сlick on “Edit” and write a new description for your photo or waypoint. Do not forget to press on “Save” button. The process is easy and your photos descriptions could be edited any time you like. This will make your tracks more informative and exciting.

Please note: photo description will be changed only for GPSed website (not for Picasa or FlickR).

Have some suggestions for us? We love your feedback!

Yours sincerely,

GPSed Team

When I attempt to edit photo captions it works only once. After I click edit for one photo on a track at my GPSed page, the edit feature for all other photos disappears and I cannot get them back. Can you provide a suggestion or fix?

Thanks!

You can edit only one photo/waypoint description in a time. To edit another one you must finish editing of current description (press Save or Cancel).

Valery, thank you for the suggestion, however pressing Save/Cancel does not correct the problem. In every one of the tracks I have created, each photo had the edit option available initially. However, once I edited the caption for one photo in the track and saved, the edit feature disappeared for any of the remaining photos that did not already have a caption. (If I added a caption as I took the photo with my iPhone, then the edit feature remains available.) When I mouse over the photo box (anywhere on the entire box or individual photos), the edit hyperlinks appear only for the photos that already have captions. There does not seem to be a way to get the edit hyperlinks to reappear for the photos that have no captions.

What browser are you using?
I’ve recommend to use Firefox 3.

Lin Muilenburg Says:

I’m using Firefox 3.0.10

The same behavior occurs when I use Safari… I just tested it.
